Admission Overview
At Little Collegiate Academy, we believe in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our selective admissions process is designed to ensure alignment with our values while remaining flexible to the diverse developmental needs of young children.

We accept students aged 0-5. Admission is based on family alignment with our Christian mission, the child's potential for academic growth, and their readiness for our learning environment. We understand that children develop at different rates, and we are committed to supporting those with developmental delays, provided they meet certain criteria.
Admission Criteria
-
Faith Commitment: Both the family and the child must profess a belief in Jesus Christ, and this will be discussed during the interview.
-
Family Assessment: We seek families who are committed to partnering with us in fostering a Christ-centered, academically rigorous education.
-
Developmental Readiness: While we are open to working with students who may have developmental delays, we evaluate readiness based on their ability to succeed in our environment, with input from family assessments, references, and further evaluation.
-
Group Testing: Students will participate in a group setting where we assess their interaction, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative skills.

Admission Process
Step 1: Application Submission
Parents are required to submit an application, which includes:
-
Completed online form
-
Statement of faith affirming the family’s belief in Jesus Christ
-
Child’s developmental history
-
Two family references
-
Optional: Relevant developmental assessments or reports

Step 2: Family Interview
Families will participate in an interview with the Head of School. This is an opportunity for us to understand the family’s values, beliefs, and educational goals, and to discuss any developmental concerns. Both parents/guardians and the child are encouraged to attend.

Step 3: Group Testing Session (Exploration Day)
Children will participate in an Exploration Day group testing session designed to evaluate:
-
Social Interaction: How children engage with peers, take turns, and communicate.
-
Problem-Solving: Through age-appropriate STEAM activities, we assess children’s critical thinking, creativity, and collaborative skills.
-
Emotional Maturity: We observe how children manage emotions, resolve conflicts, and respond to challenges.

Parental Observation: To protect the safety and privacy of all students, parents will not be allowed to observe the group session directly. However, parents will receive feedback on how their child performed during Exploration Day.

Step 4: Review and Decision
The admissions committee will review the application, family interview, group testing results, references, and any additional developmental information provided. We take into account the potential for children with developmental delays to succeed in our environment, and decisions are made based on a holistic review.
Parents will receive an admissions decision within two weeks of the final review.
